What is the PFA?
The PFA is primarily made up of parents whose children attend Christ Church (C of E) Infant and Nursery School. It was formed in 1978 and we endeavour to assist the school in providing our children with the best start to their education. We are a registered charity (no. 1170300).
What does the PFA do?
The PFA raises money to enrich our children's academic schooling by providing equipment and activities that are not available through funding from the Local Education Authority's budget. We raise money to buy the 'little extras' that help to make our children's time at school more fun.
How do we raise funds?
The PFA have raised funds in a variety of ways over the past years.

Annual summer Garden Party
Film nights and clown nights
Bags 2 school
Yellow moom cash back
Quiz night for parents and carers
How do we use the funds raised?
We have raised many thousands of pounds over the years. We have spent this money in a variety of ways to benefit all the children at the school and nursery, including:
iPads for use in school
Nursery Outdoor Shelter
Samba and Polyphone Workshops
Funding towards new Equipment in the playground, we have purchased bikes for Nursery and Reception
Raised beds and gardening tools and equipment
We buy Christmas presents for all children in school
How is the PFA made up?
The PFA consists of the Committee Members, Year Representatives, Co-opted Members, Teacher Representative(s) and co-opted members of the community. Co-opted members are parents who are not Year Representatives or Committee Members but who want to be a PFA member.
PFA members usually remain in office for a 12 month period. There is a formal voting process to elect Committee Members and Year Representatives.
Who can join the PFA?
You can! If you have a child attending Christ Church (Church of England) Infant and Nursery School
If I joined what would I be expected to do?
You can do as much or as little as you feel able to do. Committee meetings take up roughly an hour, approximately once a month. Forthcoming events are discussed and arrangements made. Committee members are asked to help out at events when they can, this may mean supervising children at an event, selling raffle tickets or making cakes, whatever is needed!
The PFA also provide refreshments for the children's Christmas party and Year 2 leavers' party and help with harvest festival collections.
A small sub-committee also runs the Garden Party, which is the main fundraiser of the year. This is hard work, but also lots of fun.
Come and help our children, and take part in the decisions on where the money raised will be spent. Everyone has their own special skills that can be put to good use on the committee.
How do I join?
Attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM), which is held in September, or just come along to any PFA meeting. Dates are posted on school notice boards. You will always be very welcome.
