Year 5 - Two day visits

Dear Parents,

I have some increased capacity in school due to staff returning from shielding. I am able to open a new Bubble Group in a Year 5 classroom for two days per week. This will allow us to invite the Year 5 children to come to school for a two day visit during the remaining four weeks of term. Each group will attend for two days on a Wednesday and Thursday for just one week.

This will give the children a chance to return to school, to see some of their friends and to complete some assessments.

Miss Hancock will teach the children on the Wednesday and do some refresher activities. On the Thursday the children will complete some assessments that we would normally complete at the end of the summer term. The information that we gather about your child during these two days will help us to develop a curriculum plan for September to meet their needs.

Your child may also wish to bring their work that they have been completing at home so that we can see how the children have engaged with the Work Portal.

If you would like your child to attend a two day visit please email:

sblower@christchurchjunior.org.uk asap. Please also state if your child will be having a school meal or packed lunch.

We will allocate places and confirm by email when your child should attend.

The children should attend school in their uniform and arrive at school at 9.00am. They will leave at 3.00pm as this will prevent a clash with the children from groups already in school. The children should enter school through the normal school gate and go straight to 5W where Miss Hancock will be waiting.

This offer is only available to children who are not currently attending school. Year 5 children in Key Worker Groups will complete the same tasks in their normal group.

Children attending on the 24th June will still have access in school to the meet the teacher session.

I hope that as many Year 5 as possible take up this offer. The more children who attend the clearer the picture will be regarding the needs of the cohort. It will help us to plan effectively for their return.

We will maintain social distancing and the children will not be allowed to mix with children from other groups. Please see our Risk Assessment on the Federation- COVID Documents tab on the website.

Regards

Mrs Blower
