Testing of Pupils

Dear Parents,

Although the government road map is releasing some restrictions it is important that we continue to follow the guidance and rules that remain.

Parent and the school have worked very closely together this term to keep our school open. Parents have been proactive in carrying out Lateral Flow Tests on the children when they have shown signs of being unwell.

However Lateral Flow Tests are not suitable for testing when the three main symptoms are present. Therefore, if your child has a cough, temperature or loss of taste a full PCR test needs to be completed. You will need to book an appointment for that test to be done. Please also remember that where a PCR test is required all family members should isolate and siblings should not attend school until a negative result is received.

If you have been to a red list country we will require a full PCR test to be completed on the 10th day. Children will not be readmitted to school without that test.

As government restrictions are relaxed we will review our risk assessment and procedures. However at the present time they remain in place. Therefore we request that parents and carers continue to wear face masks on the school premises and playground.

Thank you for your continued support.
