School Reopening?

Parent Questionnaire- Proposed Re-opening of schools.

The Government have announced that schools may start to reopen in June subject to certain conditions being met in public health and the control of the Corona virus.

In preparation for a possible reopening we would like your views. These are our initial plans:

If the children in Nursery, Reception and Year Six return to school they will be taught in groups of 10 – 15 children. They will have the same staff members each day/ week wherever possible and each group will have a separate room, playtime and lunch break. We will assign certain toilets to each group and there will be hand wash available in each room. Children will be required to wash their hands on entering or leaving the room.

Parents will be required to drop off and collect at designated times spaced over approx. 30 minutes. There will be a one way system into and out of the school grounds and adults will not be allowed to enter the building. Initially we are hoping to offer 5 days per week to allow parents who need to return to work to do so.

We will reopen the After School Care facility but numbers will be restricted to ensure social distancing.

We will not be opening to Year One in the first instance as we need to establish how many children will be attending school. We have been instructed to prioritise the youngest children first at the Infant School.

If your child is in Nursery, Reception or Year 6 please email the school to confirm if you will be sending your child to school in June if schools reopen. We would appreciate your email responses by Friday of this week at 12 noon so that we can start to make initial plans.

Nursery and Reception parents please email:

Year Six parents please email:

Following the gathering of responses and further government guidance we will be able to give you more details about how the reopening will be managed for your individual child.

These plans are provisional and depend on Government guidance. The school remains open for the children of Key Workers.
