Junior Sports Day

Dear Families,

As you are aware, it is the junior Sports Day tomorrow. Fingers crossed it stays dry for us, the forecast looks good! Lower school will start at 9.30am. Upper School will start at 1.30pm

We are very aware that some children are natural athletes and love to complete. Other children prefer to work as part of a team. In order to make our Sports Day inclusive and enjoyable for all children, it will have two parts. Part 1 will be a carousel of activities which the children will work as a team with other children in their house in order to score points. When this is complete, there will be a series of traditional competitive races. The children have all had the opportunity to say which races they would like to do. No child is being made to race if they do not wish to.

Unfortunately I cannot say exactly how long the event will take but I predict the lower school will end around 11.30 and the upper school will end in time for the children to leave with you at the end of the event (3.25pm).

Please ensure children have their water bottles and come to school in PE kit. If the weather is looking sunny, it would be helpful for the children to have a sun hat and sun cream as there will be very little shade. You are welcome to bring along a fold up chair for spectating the races.

We are very much looking forward to having a full Sports Day again this year! We hope to see you there.
